We are currently seeking individuals to fill openings for CNC Technicians and Machine Tool Service Engineers with ADVANCED, INTERMEDIATE and ENTRY LEVEL positions. On the job training will be provided.

You must have excellent mechanical or electrical aptitude & work ethic. If you are willing and capable of learning new technical disciplines Vanguard Machinery has a once in a life time career opportunity for people with the right skill sets. Direct knowledge of CNC Machines is desired but not required for this opportunity. To be selected for this opportunity you will need to relocate to the Quad City area or already reside within reasonable driving distance thereof. We are installing 4 machines this year with a potential for 4 + more machines in 2008. One or two people will learn the many facets of high tolerance machine building and machine troubleshooting. This new knowledge will enable you to leverage what you already know and progress upward in both responsibility and salary with our rapidly growing Company. After all the machines have been installed the current plan is to have Service Technician/Engineer work at and work from this Customers location.
Positions are relative to the area in which you reside.
Applicants must exhibit the following capabilities:
* Responsibility for assembly, testing, debugging and repair of metalworking machinery including manual and CNC machine tools with Fanuc Controls such as, lathes, boring mills, horizontal and vertical machining centers, CNC lathes—slant bed, flat and vertical
* Mechanical aptitude; diagnose / resolve issues with hydraulic and pneumatic systems; interpret mechanical drawings; document machine upgrades and modifications
* Work experience in performing assembly, testing and installations of commercial industrial equipment including motors, pumps, and control panels
* Conduct machine prove-out in-house and at customer’s site; customer equipment installations; provide technical phone support; demonstrate ability to diagnose problems and establish corrective measures to resolve equipment issues
* Wire control panels and run cable; understanding basic AC/DC theory for troubleshooting series/parallel circuits; ability to read and troubleshoot from electrical schematic; perform electrical work to NEC Code
* Experience using multi-meter, clamp on meter and soldering
* Technical knowledge of PLCs and experience with automatic controls
* Experience with CNC Machine Controls, preferably Fanuc
* Travel: local and national for short and long-term assignments, depending on position
* Ability to lift 50 lbs., climb ladders in industrial / manufacturing environment
* Experience with using fork lifts and cranes
* Good math skills and use of common PC based business programs
* Minimum 55-Hour work week
